About the author

I originally came to Spain on a study abroad programme my third year of college, and I pretty much fell in love at first sight: Madrid is an amazing city, and the people, language and culture are equally beautiful. And the weather! It was hard going back to Rochester, New York after spending a wonderful spring and summer on the Iberian Peninsula (and needless to say that Poughkeepsie, my original hometown, seemed fantastically less attractive after living in Europe).

I moved here after graduation “for a year or two” in 2000, and, well, time really does fly when you’re having fun. Living abroad has no comparison. Every day has been, and continues to be, a unique experience.

I currently work in financial translation, and dabble in editing and journalism on the side, and of course, I enjoy Madrid every single day.

And whether you just come to visit, or you unpack your bags like I did, I’m sure you will too.
